ABOUT:
Emre Sarigöl, a.k.a (feyz), is a musician from Istanbul, Turkey and is currently based in Zürich, Switzerland. Since an early age he has been engaged in improvised musical practices as a bass player and middle eastern instruments such as ney, tanbur and oud. Having a keen interest in electronics and computer science, he stepped into the world of synthesizers and modular electronics in 2012 to start the duo project Fezayafirar, which lead him to develop his style combining microtonal music and electroacoustic improvisation. He uses improvisation in his voltage driven sonic experimentations, where he creates rhythmic patterns by use of analog circuits and acoustic instruments that intervene and mix into one another in noisier and quieter ways.
Steinbrüchel
Steinbrüchels musical work deals mainly with the texture and atmosphere of sound. In the studio he works relentlessly towards the creation of new sounds. The accumulation, collection and the arrangement of those sounds is revealed during his livesets. The sounds one hears in his music form both intricate patterns and spacious landscapes. In his experiments with electronically created sound, steinbrüchel portrays an acute awareness for beauty. His productions follow a distinctly sophisticated aesthetic. Flowing calmly through the listener his music invokes a glowing space which invites the listener to travel within the sound. Steinbrüchels compositions and conceptual arrangements connect him to the genre of New Music rather than club music, locating his work more in the realm of digital sound art.
